Announcement: as of 1st August, 2025, The NZ Strange Occurrences Society is no longer an active group. We are no longer conducting paranormal investigations or responding to most emails about photo analysis, etc.
This website is being left as-is as an information resource.
James Gilberd is still available as a consultant on paranormal matters for media, documentaries, drama productions.

Contacting the New Zealand Strange Occurrences Society, Wellington's paranormal investigation group.

IMPORTANT: If your need is urgent and you are in distress you should NOT be contacting a paranormal group or a psychic/medium or spiritual healer. We at NZSOS are not trained professional responders but we are concerned for your personal safety. If you live in New Zealand, please consider these options:
  • Healthline - call free 0800 611 116
  • If you are in danger, call Emergency Services on 111
  • Mental Health Foundation Helplines directory
Sorry, we are no longer conducting site investigations at private premises.
The biggest hurdle in deciding to contact paranormal investigators is the fear of talking to complete strangers about what may have been an upsetting or disturbing experience. Don't worry - we fully understand. We've all had unexplained experiences of our own, some of them pretty intense, so we have some idea what you might be going through.

Please rest assured that if you contact us you will be taken seriously and treated with respect. Your enquiry will remain totally confidential within the Strange Occurrences team - see our Privacy Policy page. All of our team members are trustworthy, reliable people and you will be working with one of the most experienced and respected paranormal groups in New Zealand
.

Sorry, we do not operate a telephone response service. Email is preferred.

If you want an opinion on a photo, please read our Photos page page first, then email us the photo or video directly. The form below does not allow for attachments.
